A nice article. I wonder how modern Maseratis will be regarded in 40 years from now?

Build numbers....

Ghibli = Sold/number built 1966-’73/1274 (1149 coupés, 125 Spyders)

Indy = Sold/number built 1969-’75/1104

Khamsin = Sold/number built 1974-’82/430

How many of these are still about............what price for a minter one of these? The first two sold decent numbers.

When you consider what they offered in the 80/90s, no wonder they went T!TS up!

Ghibli's are fetching big money now especially the Spyders. Looking around £175k for excellent and more for mint cars.

Khamsin and Indy following the same way.

Are many supercar classics....true investments in real terms........they cost £10K new in 1970.......could buy a decent house for that then, whats the house worth now though relative to the car?

Good point, I'd imagine that house in London bought for 10k in the 70's would be worth well in excess of £1m in the right area of town. The thing is no one expected the cars to be worth as much as they are but it's all about supply and demand. I reckon our Ferrari era cars will go the same way in another 20 or 30 years...

Lovely cars and good article. It wasn't long ago that these Masers were the worth next to nothing compared to other Italian coupes at last they have found their rightful place. No reason for the modern cars not to follow suit it will just take 30 years plus so we best all hold on to them :)

I remember I must have been 3 year senior school 73-74 and one of my mates dad serviced cars he had a Maserati Bora and we took turns going out in it. mind you he did have a Espada in the garage and we couldn't make our minds up. which ever one they were both pretty quick. :biggrin:
