Hi, any thoughts. I have a Coupe GT (4200 Manual Box), and am thinking of swapping for a Gransport. But is it worth it. I have spent quite allot on Coupe. But I like the look of the Gransport. But do like having the manual box????

What are your thoughts.

A manual Coupe to a Gransport to totally different cars really in many respects.
Have you driven the F1 Cambio Corsa gearbox ?

The Gransport is the car the 4200 should always have been, I had a 4200 before my current Gransport, both are the cc boxes, having never driven one before, I wouldn't go back to a manual. Oh yeah, my Gransport is up for sale ;)

I’ve had both. Not manual. GS is a much harsher ride. But I guess looks slightly better. If I’m honest I preferred the softer ride in 42 but I preferred opening garage to GS.

I’ve had both and currently have a Coupe CC facelift with Gransport exterior. I would honestly find it difficult to recommend changing your Coupe for the Gransport for anything else other than aesthetics.

No, not driven a cambio. I found a Manual and liked it, and also think its more reliable?

Cheers
I tend to agree.
Clutch can last a lot longer, no special tool needed to set it up if needs changing and my gearbox seems slick.
I think the Gransport edges it on looks though.

Simply…YES, YES and YES again. The Gransport was the car the Coupe should have always been and everything Maserati learnt from the model was put into this car. Read the reviews and while there are still flaws it achieved more praise than any other 4200 model. Do it as you will not regret it. Everything was improved (Unless you want a manual that is)

what about the GS wheels, do they still crack up more often than audience at Billy Connolly gig?
The GS does have all the looks, but is it lipstick that might be applied to a sound Coupe

Anyway you're all wrong. As the OP want a manual then the 3200GT is the proper choice.

(never return to a lit firework)

Not for me...
I lve spent time and money making my manual car as simple as I can.
No fancy gearbox software (or hardware) to leave me stranded on the side of the road (read expensive & aged). No need for SD2/3 to change gear for me..! Clutch lasts longer (operator error caveat applies) No frustration because the ride is either so harsh in sport mode, or the gearbox so bad in standard that everyone who owns one, whinges about the ride quality at some point- or they never drive them ! ( I wont mention auto mode ! )
No Skyhook since I switched it off ( see above for SD2/3 and trips to MD for sensor diag...) Best thing I ever did for this car. Made simple by the absence of what I regard as the ill judged integration by Maserati of the gearbox and Skyhook software. Something they have rectified in the MC20 at lest...
If it's just a case of aesthetics, get some plastic stitched to the 4200- the C.C. box is a completely different beast...and that's before you put all the practical reasons to avoid owning it to one side...I insist on three pedals and a stick i. After driving a couple of flappy paddle things on track, I knew it was not something that I wanted from choice
If you dont care...there are plenty of reasons why the GS is an "evolution" of the 4200 and is a quite different beast from your lovely GT.

The gearboxes are very different so you need to try and see which you prefer (I went from manual 4200 to auto 4.7 Granturismo). The GS does look ace outside and in and is clearly a worthy upgrade if the gearbox works for you.

Technically speaking- the gearboxes are identical...
...but drive before you buy is always great advice.
There's a lovely GS just posted for sale @£20K...Why wouldnt you ? I think Id struggle to turn that down if I was looking for a car today ...
