Watche the two SPA races live on TV. The Mercs have a clear power advantage over the QP but Bertolini did some great driving to bring the QP home in first in both races (and score the Pole Position).
Watched both yesterday BB....The Merc is quicker down the straights....Johnny had the same issue at Spa as he did a few races ago.....Car just cut out....At least it gave the win to Bertolini....The only thing I do not like about this race series is the rolling starts....Hate rolling starts....just not exciting....
The QP is the 'forgotten' sports car of the Maserati range. We all harp on about the GT-S but I bet a QP Sport could give it a run for its money around a track.
It sure is...Only a small track I know but after being a passenger in Enzos QP around Llandow twice I can confirm it felt a home on track......Brilliant car...
Considering that the Swiss Team had 2 Maseratis going, whilst there was a shedload of BMWs (with special let offs from the organisers of the championship, eg. the M3 is not a 4-door saloon!) and Mercedes (and a fair few Audis and Jaguars), it is impressive to see the QP win.
A lot of the credit goes to Bertolini, who is a really good driver and squeezed all there was to squeeze from a much improved Quattroporte.
