Collect the Strad on Good Friday
I haven't even driven it yet.
Any tips on driving?

I'm used to MC shift so no problem there

Never used ceramic brakes, do they need warming up?

Is sport the same as sport on MC shift?
Is Race different to sport on MC shift?

Thanks in advance
Nick

Congratulations, which one did you buy?

I tend to drive mine in Race mode most of the time, but let the tyres and engine warm up before pressing on.......

I believe Race is more aggressive than MC Shift with faster gear changes.

Yep, as above and assuming you have P Zero Corsa tyres, once warmed they are better than the P Zero Nero I had on the GTS. The brakes will take a bit of getting used to, leave plenty of stopping distance when you first drive it, it feels like you aren't going to stop in time as they have a bit of a wooden feel but once you are used to the, they are fantastic.
Race mode is fine as long as you don't hammer it but be warned when you press the Race button, it usually shifts down a cog which can take you by surprise!
Other than that, enjoy - they are a real treat

Yes it's got Corsa's fitted.
What is sport mode then?
Still quick shifts and noisy exhaust?

The valves are only open in Race mode so in sport, you change gear with the paddles and the shifts are quick but not as quick as in race. I have never driven it in auto but that is the default setting on start up on mine so I start the car, put in sport and off I go but this is why I had an X pipe fitted. I didn't want it in race the whole time as it can get a bit much on a long cruise but it's too quiet in the cabin for me when in sport; you'll see what I mean after Friday

I let mine warm up before going into race, but once I've pressed race it isn't switched off again! It's hard to put it in anything else but race, just sounds epic! I too have the larini x pipe fitted. On the over run it crackles and pops and at 3k revs is heaven!! Enjoy!!

the only 'mistakes' I made on first owning my stradale were more due to not knowing the MC shift box. If you have that worked out, you will be fine. Some tips:
- the ceramic brakes feel fine, even cold, don't let people tell you they don't stop well. On the other had, once warmed, they stop with epic proportions.
- Race mode is always 'chomping at the bit', begging you to go faster. This is tiring in heavy traffic, and sport mode saves the day then
- you will discover the shift times seem strange, sometimes a shotgun recoil, sometimes a regular shift. To get the 60ms shifts (shotgun) you will need to be in race mode, a warmed engine and box, to be over about 4000rpm, and to be truly committed on the throttle.

Enjoy it!

Seriously, just enjoy the Stad...

If got have a MC Shift, you will be fine, you can just be a little more aggressive.

I have had a Gransport, 2 GTS's and bought the Strad new 3 years ago so have done "all" the 16,500 miles in her.

I have only ever driven in race mode, irrespective of month and weather conditions. Don't worry about warming up the tyres and brakes etc. They are fine. The only feedback I would give on the brakes is that they do not stop if you have cleaned the car and jetwashed it. Then yes, you need to trail brake with the left to get heat back in.

Other than that, enjoy....
