Sticky controls 3200gt

Hi guys

I am trying to remove the centre dash the bit that holds the radio air con controls and dash buttons.
The radio is out the 2 screw that are located each side are removed according the the workshop manual there are clips further up towards air con controls which i cannot access,so is it a case of wiggling the surround until it is free our am i missing something because it feels very solid, I have new buttons as the hazard button gave up the ghost.
I thought as i am in there i might do something about the sticky(they look as though there melting!) to the touch air con controllers any ideas welcome

Indeed, a very common Maserati problem - right up to the GT even, they have not learnt have they?

Easy to get out! 2 screws then screwdriver to pop two clips out near top corners. Put a rag around the blade top so as not to damage the leather.
