Spyder roof cover sticking when hot

The cover for my Spyder roof has started sticking shut, but only when the car has been out in the hot sun for a few days. Everything works fine up until the point that the lid is supposed to open. I can reverse the opening process easily enough. Once the car is cool, say in the evening, it works fine. It’s happened about 3 times so far. After the first time I had a go at greasing some of the pivots in the mechanism, but I wasn’t really sure what I was doing. Maybe it helped a bit.

Any suggestions for what to try next? Any adjustments I can make?

Thanks

The back 'pins' on mine occasionally fail to release properly (a million times better tho' than it used to be thanks to Matt & Ash's magic touches) - it doesn't seem to be temperature dependent and it's always just one - and whenever it happens I just thump it - seems to work but it can hurt my hand! (I also try to operate the roof on level-ish ground)

Cheers, that’s helpful. A thump worked one of the times it was stuck, but not the others. I’ll have a look at the pins.

I’m pretty sure it is these catches that are not unlocking.

Be a bit careful Gooner as that horseshoe dents easily.
I had a similar problem on a couple of occasions but touch wood it's not happened for a long while.

Does the rear of the hood lift free of the lid? Ours sometimes struggles to unwind off the pegs holding the hood frame to the lid. I have greased the pegs and will clean and lubricate the motors under the lid when time permits.

Good point, thanks, I’m hoping to fix it before hitting it again.

The rear of the hood lifts easily, the pegs do unwind fine. It is once the rear of the hood is fully raised that it stops. I can still lower the rear of the hood.

See the two bolts with orange markings that hold the latch. Loosen them and raise the latches. When you press the manual release behind the driver's seat the cover should easily release with a push.

Thanks, I’ll try loosening them a bit and see what difference that makes.
