Hi all,
I am trying to remove my rear bumper but just can't see how its bolted on.
I have removed the carpet side cd panel and spare wheel holder inc the plastic bottom tray.
I have also removed the 4 torx screws below he boot lid bottom rubber and the plastic panel inside that.
I also lifted the padding just inside at the bottom and removed the 2 bolts from there.
I can't see any more bolts to undo so does anyone know where the bolts holding the bumper on are ?
I wondered if it cam aprt from the bottom but I can't see any way of removining from e rear diffuser as that seems to be bolted from the inside.

On a 3200 there are 4 screws below the boot rubber as you described, 3 down each quarter panel where the bumper joins to the panels, you have to remove the trim and battery on the off side and CD changer and trim on the near side to gain access to these and then there are some screws inside the wheelarches that hold the plastic trims to the Bumper and then when all of these are undone you have to pull the bumper towards the rear ( for about 5 mm) as it slots into a liitle brackets at the side of each quarter panel. Also best to put some cloth around the tail pipes so you don't scratch the inside of the opening for the tail pipes.

Thanks Rex,

I've just seen the 3 on each side where you need to take the battery and a load of electronics and bracket out, I can get to the other side under my CD player but i'm not ready to take the electronics and bracket off so i'm giving up.
I was going to fit the electromagnetic park distance that i have had for ages but i'm not going to bother now and its not worth paying an indie to to do all that work just for the parking.
So back to using the camera and start thinking of fitting it to the front !

Nick, If you take plenty of photos you shouldn't have any problem putting it all back in the right order.

Could you not gain access by putting it onto a ramp and fitting the items without the bumper coming off?

I have just had the bumpers off my 3200 and fitted electromagnetic parking sensors and i am delighted with them. I fitted the front ones low down to stop me hitting kerbs at the front and that works really well. Be careful if you use a socket wrench on the well arch bolts that you don't dent the wheel arch is quite thin there. I treated all the metal underneath and also put some sealant on the joining points so it will not rust in future too.

Ive done a few of these , loads of Masking tape around the parts that might touch on removal and re-fitting , Nick the amplifier and the electronics all come out on metal plates , or on two bolts , dont be scared its not rocket science , just label up and take a few before picks to refer to if necessary ,

No it cant be done in situ , impossible to get to the sensors rear nut once the holes have been drilled , beleive me ive tried and had the cut knuckles to prove it
