Looks interesting. It wasn't me, but should it be? I don't like vinegar on chips anyway.

I joined and did my first event today at the Horsham Piazza Italia event.

It was great fun with beautiful weather and very nice people.

It is well worth getting involved with and the perfect opportunity to bore people rigid about your car, AND make money for a very worthwhile cause at the same time.

Just been reading up on their website, might join you in a future event when my working and private (decorating new house and move again) life all quietens down. I'll be at Piazza Italia tomorrow.

We use to do a lot with the bears both tours and dream rides in the SZ but since the smalls have been growing have not done much. Really should get back into it as they are a great bunch and do loads for charity.

I know it's for a good cause and all that, but I find it a bit odd that you have to pay to join SB's but you're the one who's car/fuel is being used. Not to mention wear and tear.

Or is it just me?

It is just you.... ;-)

My view is that it is hardly very much money, all of which helps raise money for children's charities anyway, and I'm more than happy to take advantage of ANY excuse to drive my car, let alone hang around and talk with like minded car bores! :)

In fact there are a few forms to fill in and getting my insurance company to actually EMAIL me their consent for my participation was quite a bit of hassle, but it depends on how much you want to do it and what motivates you I suppose.

All good fun though.

Totally agree on all counts. But why charge someone to join, when it's their services you will be using?
The logic doesn't make any sense.

Having said that, I'll probably join at the end of the year when I'll be able to commit more of my time.

I can very easily answer this, your subs are used to run the motor club, so all costs such as the admin, card machines, gazebos etc. Are covered by the club and its members, so that we can honestly say, every single penny that is donated for dream rides goes to the charities. It's as simple as that, we're a motor club... We take nothing from the donations, without subs, we would need to... And it is very little, no one is paid, all are volunteers...
