I read somewhere that if you bank more than £5k in cash the bank have a duty to inform the inland revenue of you deposit.

The limit used to be 10k...not sure if that has been reduced in recent years...but yes, they do have a duty to inform...

I once took out (with prior arrangement) about 20k in cash from Barclays in central Birmingham to buy a car.

The cashier wanted proof of who I was, which was fine. Then because of their rules, they had to count the individual bundles (all 20 of them) with another assistant being present. All of this took about 5 minutes and more and more twitchy hoodies started to join the queue and looking at what was going on. Then I had to go into a special glass fronted room (facing the queue of hoodies) where they gave me the cash in huge envelope which may as well have said "LOADS OF ££££". Quite nervous by this stage.

Only one thing for it - walked calmly of Barclays and then legged it!. Not too sure I would pay cash for a car again unless it was say under £5k as I counldn't cope with the stress again....

Did the same once when being paid for a car....something very primitive about having your hands on £10,000s..........yummy.....:)

Sorry for the thread drift

It is a bit bonkers Andy, about 4s to 60. Its got the suspension and brake mods to go with it as well, plus some sticky rubber at the moment. The bonnet inserts are carbon, as are the side scoops, reverie I think. The front clam is from an exige, as are the wheels (not the ones in the pic).

The SC is a 'katana' aftermarket fitment as is the chargecooler, oilcooler, uprated rad and custom ecu map , takes power from 190 to about 280-290, it could go higher but the gearbox is the weak link. Its been pampered and I daren't think of the amount spent on it over the years.

I now need something I can actually use during the week, kids to school and a bit of fun etc. Hence the plan about a Gransport I must be getting old!
