So you want a v8 and you want a 911?

I do like the appearance of the 997 and i would love to have one. But when i look into the poor interior, i get back to the trident. No comparison to sound as well.
They should drive awesome, and better than the tridents, but i feel they are not driver-involved. They are pure german technology perfection, but the emotion is a big part of driving experience, which the Germans are missing.

I’ve driven a few and the great ones live up to the lauding, though I found the 996/997 Turbo a bit boring once I’d got over the (admittedly exciting) mid-range thump. Preferred the GT3 versions, though I’ve been promised a go in a 997 GT2 which should be fun…
My problem with them is that just because it’s a 911 does not necessarily make every variant as good as its lovers claim.
A Tiptronic 996/997 C4 S is objectively awful on a variety of levels…

Like most modern cars IMHO they have all got a bit too fast, too much power and often less involving at non-license losing speeds.

I've driven a couple and have been tempted. I think if I had one it would be a 997 Carrera 2 S. Although I love the shape and blend of old and new style merged into a 964.
STFU! the gubberment/Kahn will probably quote you on their next speed clampdown. It's bad enough having to travel at '50' on country roads.

Had a 70s variant. Tried a 2008; was a consideration when I was looking around last...until I got behind the wheel. Bought the 4200 Coupe instead, and zero regrets.

I am also over MBZ...my Masers are actually more reliable. And the recent BMWs do, in fact, leave me cold...so perhaps I'm just over German "precision engineering."

Driven a few 911’s and everyone has been a joy. I fully get why people buy these and never want anything else. A car that excites and can we be used daily which you can’t say about all in this category. Porsche do this so well. Great drivers cars. Some will never ever want, get or like the 911 and they are missing out on one of the all time greats.
Well said , There is nothing like a 911 , that's a fact.

Also they look ace

When I went round the full F1 circuit in this 964 lightweight we had everything Italian pulling over to let us by.
One of the most amazing cars I've ever been in at full chat.
My friend who owned the car paid £25,000 for it as a retirement present for himself.received_624882509690941.jpeg

One this side of the Channel €400,000 and one in the UK for £285,000 with one asking over £800,000 so I'm just happy to have driven one and spent a good day at Silverstone Andy :)
Sounds like a great day Phil.

I’ll add one of my wife’s 996 being taken away after it dropped a valve into cylinder 5 on the motorway in Denmark…

Love a newer Porsche as well, not an angle I don’t like on them. And, like the way the wheels look so much bigger and fill the wheel arches properly, not like on the GT.
