But this is my original love and the basis for co-founding and running www.S2forum.com

I purchased her with little knowledge really at the time as so little was written about them in 2000 and it was very much living in the shadows of the original quattro. It is a 1992, 3b engines 20v inline 5 cylinder, same as the ur quattro with pretty much the same underwear just a more fast road approach than rally stage.

It is in many bits just now and in need of new paint but it’s a fantastic wolf in sheep’s clothing. Old school lag and proper 4wd with no software at all just cogs and oil!

Great choice. Back in the day I used to walk home from the tube past one of those and it looked just right. I only had a Golf VR6 at the time so it would have been a nice upgrade.

Thanks. Superb cars. Was yours originally a VAG car? Just wondering with the Oxford plate which many had.

Had a Coupe quattro in the Pearl White in the 90s and last year sold an early launch 1991 model S2 in Laser Red. Audi Heritage came down to look at that and other Audis I have, in their 600 mile 1995 last UK press car in Volcano Red model! Great back to back drive in those. We both preferred the early version but I think because it was run-in at least and we did not have to be so careful!

Another S2 is on my list to add to the collection. Really hard to find an original car (not helped by some parts no longer available and mods forced upon owners).

Guy I used to work for had a friend in Greece who rallied one. Quite unusual in this country. We did some engine work on a new Mini Moke for him so must have been about 1995.

Lovely. I had a 92 S4 Avant. Awesome and wished I had kept it.

Can't remember the last time I saw one of these in the wild. Always liked the look of them.
(I have a Mk1 TT QS).
