Been testing driving GT Cabrios. Tell me about your experience.
Good, Bad, etc.
I was hooked on a new 911 for a while but after hearing a GT a few months back, I kinda got an itch to start checking into them. A few things I've heard about them and my thoughts after test driving several:
Interior is dated - As long as it has bluetooth audio streaming and pickup/hangup call function and they respond well, and the sound system is good, I don't care. The interior looks like the E Class (number pad, etc), which wasn't updated till this year itself. No one really complained about that.
It's slow compared to the competition - If I were to get a 991 it would be an NA Carrera S Cabriolet, slightly heavier than a base with a lower HP/Torque rating. Only benefit the 991 will have is weight. I realize the GT is a GT car first, sport car second (911 is reversed). So "slow" doesn't bother me much.
Reliability - Here's where I can't really rationalize based on "common knowledge". I know the pre 2010ish are a mine field, but I've met my fair share of folks who have had no issues with GT. Thoughts?
Can you share with me your yearly maintenance? Was your insurance jacked up pretty high as well?
I've found two options, both 2010, one with 47k miles for 45k, one with 25k miles for 55k. Wonder if I can talk both down a bit, especially if I see both on the lot for quite some time. What am I in store for for scheduled A/B major maintenance? Is Maserati at 20/40/60K miles?
TY in Advance
I would say, the only thing I didn't like about the GT Cabs I've driven was the accelerator placement. Very high compared to the brakes!
USA Based BTW!
