Skyhook suspension issue

Done, all of them are perfect, no leaks.

And I don't think it's a failure of a single-shock because this would be evident while driving: before the reconstruction job it WAS evident (the response of the single shocks was different, the front-left unit was clearly out of hydraulic power) but now it's the whole car wobbling up/down but it stays aligned...the feeling is totally different.
I wonder if the control unit for the suspension is corrupt and telling it to do silly things ?

Did the rebuilt shocks come with a dyno print out?

Get the shocks off and get them on a dyno, it’ll give you the info you need rather than just guessing.

They did the dyno printout before and later, but I didn't ask for that, and it was over 1 year ago so now it's useless.

Taking the shocks of and shiping them for checking is quite a long job for me, I'll do that when I'll be more sure that they are the problem

Most race suspension people do it. Have a google for someone local to you.

eg

It does look like these guys can fix anything to do with shocks:

what is welded is normally opened with a cut, then threaded and plugged to be closed again.
The only point is that it's a kind of a job so it makes sense only if the shock is a good quality one, otherwise it's better to replace the whole unit.

Just a thought as I'm currently reprogramming many vehicles at the moment and the process is quite time consuming as you need to clear the car of any codes first then follow out the reprogramming procedure.
After you need to fully scan the car again as the process will introduce faults into the car.
I can't believe any competent person would not do the process fully but we do have apprentices in the profession and they need full supervision.
Just a thought from my experiences.

thank you for your advice, but I don't have to perform any reprogramming at the moment. My intention is now to find-out a used suspension ecu (from a wrecked car) and simply plug it in replacement of mine, and this should work without reprogramming I guess.

Let us know how this works out in due course please. It will be interesting to see if it is a software or hardware issue.

news of the day: I lifted the car up to check the heights and the alignments and came out that the car is too low on the front, much lower than the minimum admitted value according to the tyre-shop documentation. This is also visible looking at the car and comparing with pics of the Granturismo I find online: my car is noticeable too low compared to the back, so for sure there's something wrong in the front springs.

Now I wonder if this could also affect the electronic suspension functioning, becasue the suspension ecu is working with wrong parameters and give bad inputs to the shocks...

Is there a photo of the side of the car you could show us, so the front & rear wheel arch gaps can be seen?
GT’s were always lower at the front than the rear, and by some margin (Skyhook cars)

mmmhhhh....thnk you for the info, will take a picture and share.
Looking at yours seems similar to mine, but anyhow something is wrong because in the last period I'm hitting the ground with my front plate at any road bump, which is not normal

yes, I'm going to order new front springs, hoping they'll have an acceptable price. The strange thing is that when I did the suspension rebuild 10.000km ago they were still ok.

Front springs are only about £85 each from eurospares.

Out of interest - Are you dead set on Skyhook?
For the money you're spending getting re-built skyhook shocks, new springs etc... You could probably get a full set of the fixed rate springs and dampers from the Stradale/MC sport cars. Pretty sure they're a straight swap (not sure about lights on dash needing to be removed) and in my opinion are much better than the skyhook set up and cheaper too!

Thank you for the advice but I like the skyhooks, I drive my car mainly on long distances and the comfort they return is absolutely superior to the fixed dampers of the Stradale/MC (which are certainly superior for aggressive drive).
Will look for the springs on eurospares, thanks a lot.

Any update on your car?
