Skydrive on Hotmail...HELP!!!

Guys, without me searching for an hour, how do I STOP Hotmail assuming I want every attachment saved/sent via their Skydrive system...ie I want to turn it off!

I had that on my HTC, but only got the message, any attachments you had to download, so there must be a method of just opting for the header and not the full message. I have just decided to get an iPhone 4S, so I don't think I will have an issue with the hotmail, but time will tell.

The problem is recipients who don't have a Hotmail account don't appear to be able to access the attachments.....

So is it stuff you are sending to people, or that you do not have hotmail, but are still somehow getting mail?

I have hotmail.....and each time I attach an attachment it converts to a skydrive shared document...I don't want ti to do that!

I think you have to go in to the sharing section and disable the sharing via skydrive, I am not certain but give it a try.

After you have chosen which file to attach, you should be taken back to the mail message. Below the “To†“Subject†and “Insert†lines there should be a new line with two tabs. One is “Save Files on SkyDriveâ€. The other is “Send Files as Attachmentsâ€. I think it now (as of quite recently, no doubt due to some Microsoft “customer experience enhancement†) defaults to the SkyDrive option but if you click the Send files as Attachment one it does so and as far as I can recall then seems to default for that for your next time. Try choosing it and then closing and reopening Hotmail? Difficult to say though given all the variables there could be here…

P, here is how to turn this Skydrive feature off so you don't have to do the choose tab thing I mentioned earlier:

go to Options on right of Hotmail account

more options

windows live settings

click advanced

untick Office on Skydrive

Found it........under the attachments heading......unticked....will try now!

Big attachments can clog your friends' inboxes. But when you use SkyDrive, you send links to files instead of the files themselves. This makes it easy to share hundreds of files at a time with the people you choose.

Always send files using SkyDrive
Always send files as attachments
Let Hotmail choose (use SkyDrive for large attachments and Office docs)
