Ski holiday

(100 years ago, I persuaded a non-skiing fellow student to come on the university ski trip to Avoriaz. She broke her leg in her first lesson on the first day and blamed me for ever afterwards.)

Annual thread revival.

Apparently I'm going to Morzine in January. Any expert info on that resort?

- Full of Brits

- expensive

- not that high although Avoriaz is decent; Les Gets is even lower (this doesn't matter at all if there's been enough snow of course)

- the whole Portes du Soleil is a massive area and includes Les Gets, Morzine, Avoriaz as well as resorts in Switzerland

- v busy in school holiday times

- if snow is good it's a fabulous place to ski
