It was a tip I was given early in my ownership, get in - turn on ignition - put on seatbelt - start car (car goes through check whilst I am putting on the seatbelt)
Try getting a woman to remember that - yesterday I watched closely as Mrs Bebs unplugged the trickle charger, got in the car and…voila, turned the engine on straight away!
Then the inevitable ‘why is it juddering like that?’ as she reversed out of the garage…

I'd forgotten how bad the juddering is. It makes the car almost dangerously undrivable if you're trying any low-speed manoeuvres.

I am a woman (it's a chance to check my hair and makeup) - tho' I admit I did have an issue waiting a minute for the turbo'd Subaru to cool down before turning the engine off;)
Clearly you are the exception to the rule here and that’s to be applauded

Had mine out yesterday for the first time in about 3 months and had a bit of shudder when pulling away while the gear box was cold but disappeared once it had warmed up. It's done <10,000 miles so I'm not too worried.

I always wait for the lights to go out before starting as well.
I had mine out last night for the first time in a year!
I had a bit of a shudder when pulling away too.
You have a gearbox on yours? Jeepers. Was I ever in the wrong line.
10,000 miles eh? Now, you're just bragging.
That's so British. Waiting for the lights to go out.
I'm quite prepared to lend you five pence for the meter.
Should you want to go all Continental.

Mine judders when cold, but is fine when warmed up. Only had the car a week so can’t really give any comment or experience, but mine does it too. It’s had a new clutch fairly recently so don’t think it’s an issue, probably just needs oil to warm up in the gearbox.
