SL 55 AMG and XKR were both on my list of possibles before I bought the Maser, both still itches I need to scratch, particularly the Merc, Friend bought a clk 55 AMG at the thornfalcon classic car show the other day, a lot of car for the money.

I had an SL55 & found the E55 Estate to have better traction & also be a bit more...well a lot more...of a sleeper.

Magazine said the traditionalists would avoid the maserati for sure and that it was scary at times. It was the manual box too which was an interesting and rare choice.

I bought a low mileage SL55 1 family owner blah blah a couple of years back. Bought it blind trade. Got it in & up to my Merc/AMG guy. Needed 8k spent to get it to to scratch. Flipped it out to the trade for quick small return.

I would say an SL55 could easily eat as much cash as the Maser maybe more.
