Separate control of driving modes on GTS MC-Shift

hi all,

Having had my GTS for just over 9 months now, I'm interested in views from others about the locked in driving modes. My car has Skyhook and sometimes I would quite like the exhaust on but softer suspension, or quick gear changes without the exhaust on, or soft suspension and quick gear changes. Seems a shame that they are all locked together on the sport button. Invariably, I end up in manual sport mode (and yes it sounds great, but can draw a little too much attention in some circumstances).

Thoughts?

Fully agree with you here as I often want the firmer sport skyhook setting but with everything else as normal. FWIW the new QP and Ghibli have addressed this problem as they have separate buttons for dampers and gearbox/exhaust but they could have gone further and had three buttons rather than two.

PS Agree about the exhaust. On my car the exhaust valves only open in sport mode above 3000 revs so I can easily get back down to a quiet exhaust without coming out of sport mode. I am obviously of a minority view mind as since September 12 production, the valves on the 4.7 auto work exactly the same as on your car. Before hand you could buy the 'sport pack' which I did not so it's a shame to effectively make this option standard fit but it's a continuation of Maserati trying to con everyone that the GranTurismo is a sports car when it is not. To my mind the triple model line up from 2009 to 2012 was perfect (Stradale excepted as it really is a special case).

Definitely a step in the right direction. Would be good to find a solution that separated everything (gearchange/throttle separate from exhaust and suspension). Using this solution is a little inelegant as I would end up with lots of custom switches hidden away somewhere which doesn't feel right on this type of car.

So far I don't think I have driven without race turned on all the time. Maybe I'm just a hooligan but just want to hear that exhaust all the time! Surely everyone else around does too??? :)

Yes to exhaust being on all the time, but not always good for throttle map and hard suspension at the same time. And even with the exhaust, sometimes I want to drive in a spirited fashion but without drawing lot's of attention (rare if I am honest but it does happen!)

I guess the other thing is engine noise (as opposed to exhaust) on the GTS is actually lovely and nice to hear it sometimes in relative isolation.
