selling a reg plate??

iv looked at a couple of those sites eg nationalnumbers.co.uk and numberplatevaluation.co.uk but they are just like webuyanycar.com arnt they and offer you fk all. although one did offer 1k

bought my 4200 with 'V888 MAS' on it but plates do nothing for me and id rather buy some rims or FD springs.

would maserati dealers tell me im a pikey and to get lost if i rang them and asked them if they were interested??

i could quite easily see someone buying a new GTS or MC paying 3k or so extra for a plate like that.

anyone know where the best place to sell it would be??

iv never seen any websites actually offer to buy plates, only advertise them on there site and then if and when it sells, they take a cut of the money.

I would have taken the £1000 also, although worth what someone is willing to pay, would have thought about 1/2 that .

People often think a reg is worth more than it is. I had M3... Only worth £250

M3!? I'd give you £250 all day long for that! In fact, £25k. M3 would be a £100k+ IMO :)

As for the OP, as said, take the £1k if they've got their cheque book out. Either speak to a good dealer (not the biggies IME) or chuck it on eBay. IMO, I'd say anything north of a few hundred quid and you're doing OK.

V8 88 MAS is a good plate. 8 is a lucky number in Asia, too, so it has a couple of angles to it. Be interesting to see how much it's advertised for.

JUst looking on the DVLA registration website and there's a lot of current style reg plate with CC nn MAS or GT nn MAS up for grabs and cheap too. Including GT5 3 MAS for £3k or GT5 6 MAS or GT59 MAS for £250. The real shame is that Maserati havent done a Berlinetta but if they do the GT13MAS would be a steal at £399.
