Driver's seat bolster (before Matt's handiwork) and sticky switches/vents etc look in a lot worse state than mine do/did. It's the same age as mine but mine has a significantly higher mileage.

The car maybe worth a punt but it is one of the earlier ones with the aerial on the boot. He also states it has all the wear and tear of an 18 year old car and there isn't a current MOT. He does warn about warning lights on the dash and there don't appear to be too many lit up, so I think that is just his general chat for old cars. Warning lights can be expensive and most are now MOT failures. Don't ask me how I know.

Reading its mot history, identifies subframe corrosion. That's an alarm bell right there.
It can be welded but the welder should have prior experience of these. Tricketts in Poole are such.

Grimaldi's in Essex wouldn't weld mine. I think Roberto was a bit worried about frying the electronics so he just replaced it with one from a car being broken up for bits.

Happens all too often and can get bad.

It's far too easy to open an ebay account , nice easy robbery , they're completely off guard because they're buying a new car but something should set alarm bells off.

I'm much more cautious these days after a mate told me about one of his mates buying a motorbike

Went to the guys house , everything checked out , paid cash and rode it away

A week later he gets a pull from the police , bike is stolen

They ask him where he bought it and to paint a picture of the transaction

Normal looking house , washing on the line , he made me a cup of tea and bought it out

Did you go in the house

No, but that's not unusual

Well, that house has been unoccupied for a while , he's given you what you expect to see, bought the washing with him , the tea will be from a flask , that's the last you'll see of the bike or your money

He went down to the station and picked out a face from pictures shown to him , they knew the guy , went round his house and he still had some of the money so he didn't lose all of it.

I bought a MGZT a couple of weeks after that , it was cheap all checked out OK but the guy was surprised when I asked if I could see his driving licence and have a look up the hall

The clutch went that night which is why it was cheap but that's another story :D
