Schmee!!

Many on here may not understand the title, but I refer to a YouTube contributor. He is an English guy who is in the very very fortunate position to be able to own a considerable number of some of the newest supercars on sale - his latest acquisition is a Ferrari 296. He has his own storage facility to house them - called the Schmuseum, and some staff to manage it all.
Now for those who maybe familiar with his videos, they are not surprisingly about his cars and his journeys in them, all if which is absolutely great, and its his channel so it's upto him how he chooses to present it, but I do at times feel he comes across as a tad boastful. For example in his last video, when talking about his Mercedes AMG GT Black series, which he had repainted in a one off colour, which according to a detailer may have cost £30,000 to carry out, he seemed very keen to mention that a carbon fibre bonnet vent could cost around £10k if it needed to be replaced. It always seems to be 'look at me, look at how well I'm doing!'.
Now this could all sound like bitterness and jealousy on my behalf, but I watch many YouTube channels that shoe great wealth and success, and I don't come away with the same impression.
The character I'm talking about could be a really nice and genuine guy, and I'm speaking completely out of turn, and I apologise in advance as I wouldn't want to cause any offence, but as a forum of honest speakers I was wondering if anyone else watches his videos and possibly agrees. I don't tend to watch too much of his output, but I do tend to come away feeling this way when I do.
After all this maybe nobody on here knows of his channel, but in case anybody does I would be interested in other views, or maybe I am just an old bitter and twisted jealous git! :)

I watch him sometimes but he's very inferior to some others on YouTube such as Harry M.

Generally I don’t watch him as he’s dull, and I’m not keen on the hyper cars he buys. However, I did watch the one (highlighted on another thread here) about the amounts he’d made and lost on the cars he’d bought. In that video he was more likeable and humble.
In brief, he looses money on the cars he buys. But because he films this, and people pay to watch, overall, he’s up on the deal.
The worse his deals, the more money he makes! Genius!!!

Other than the afore mentioned video on his losses I don't watch but my boy does, he has probably watched every one of his videos, in fact I can hear his voice as we speak. However Jamie "the boy" is a bit different to most due to his Global Development Delay but Schmee has, inadvertently, taught Jamie to read and write, enabled him to spot any supercar at a 100 paces and taught him to search the internet like a professional.

Jamie has moved onto other youtube presenters but he always goes back to Schmee so we look at him in a different light to the rest of you but I agree his voice can be annoying especially if you hear it as much as we do ;)

Lots find him annoying but I really enjoy watching his videos. There are more annoying ones out there these days. We met him at Goodwood festival of speed a number of years ago. My youngest was looking at his cars in the car park as he recognised his number plates and he came over for a chat. He is a very nice chap and made time to talk all things cars with Alex and he got to sit in a few.

He's not the best but ok, and I like his hot lap of the 'ring in the Senna, although in one of his track vids he comes up behind a 6R4 and says he has no idea what it is - so is he a true petrol head or just rich......

I do not like his style on his videos, prefer something more professional, but i believe he's a nice and funny guy.

I met him in 2014 (Blondie recognised him at a car event) and he seemed like an enthusiastic, nice chap. There have been a lot of cars through his garage since then!

He's the enthusiastic, nice chap in any group of lads, who constantly tries too hard, and always ends up coming across as a bit of a tít.

I find that somewhat endearing yet also very annoying.

He knows so much more about flash cars than I do, that I can't really comment on whether or not he is knowledgeable and informative.

He's come a long way in 10 years from just car spotting in London in his diesel BMW, so fair play.
As others have said, in the flesh he seems a genuinely nice guy (met him last year at a car show and was happy to chat), but yeah, online comes across as a bit of a posh tit and the Schmee(insert word) thing is so cringey.

Has some lovely cars though and the video content is not a bad watch.

I believe he’s probably the biggest motoring you tubers on the planet so from starting as a spotter in central London he’s done well. He now runs multiple businesses alongside YouTube I believe.

I think he’s a relatively nice guy and an enthusiast, but I personally don’t love his style or cars he reviews/buys.

I’d caution any haters however because as someone states above, a younger generation are totally into him, and have become sports car enthusiasts as a result. I think that’s super important as the young are less into cars and anything that keeps the tribe going is surely a good thing?

I read somewhere this is his hobby, already from a very wealthy family so the youtube money probably pays for the depreciation on the cars

Regardless of family money, he made his own money in IT quite early on and continues to have advisory positions outside of his YouTube car stuff. He's no daftie.

I'm no hater, just don't watch his content as I find his voice grating and it's a bit 'look at me!' .
But maybe that's why I'll never consider a super/hyper/car as they're just chasing bhp numbers and a go faster stripe constitutes as the latest limited edition that you've got to have. I prefer substance...

Used to watch him when he had the Ferrari FF, but not the huge fleet he has now. Watching his road trips in that car was one of the things that kick started my solo road trips and videoing them. Now I just find his delivery annoying.
