Rusty Wing Mirrors !

I have noticed that both wing mirrors on my 2008 QP are rusty. The rust is on both wing mirrors on the lower part which joins to the doors. My question is am I covered under some type of Maserati paint, anti rust guarantee ?

Any help and advise would be gratefully received.

Only if you have had it looked after by Maserati since day one.

Are you sure its rust and not the alloy frames oxidising ?

Alloy frames oxidisation on my 2009 QP. Poor, poor quality, body wise, the only bad point on the car.

Lots of cars rust here...My M3 went and my wifes X5 in the same place...Seen a few 4200's like it as well...Depends how long Maserati warranty covers rust..Isn't it usually around 6 years anti corrosion...Not sure....

If not it's pretty cheap for a good body shop to do...I paid £30 a side for the M3.......

Its the good old British climate and the fact we drive around for months with all the salt on the roads.

I've not looked in detail at the Maserati warranty but many manufacturers don't cover corrosion unless it's perforated the metal; minor bubbling like this will most likely be shrugged off. Hopefully Maserati are a bit more accommodating.

It will be the alloy frames....

It was the alloy frames on my 08 QP and they were both replaced under manufacturers warranty, but that was before the 5 year warranty ended.

Oxidation of the body of the mirror - noticed the same thing on my Gransport. She is nearly 10 and will need them fettled over the winter.

Mine suffered from the same affliction.
Contact Mario at Autoshield as this can be fixed easy with a refurb. Will post a photo if anyone interested.
