Running costs

Since i've had the QP up for sale there have been a number of questions about running costs as understandably people are wary. My suggestion has been to avoid MD's unless warranty work or they can add something to the party such as diagnostics.

I had it serviced at Dick Lovetts end March. They were a lot more expensive on the service cost (and wouldn't price match (carrs) which i thought they would) however told them to bat on as i was there and they had sorted the use of a Gibli for a week.

Anyway they highlighted some advisory future maintenance work, which was mainly brakes etc (4.7 so the fronts are pricey), so nothing too specialist regards fitting. As their quote for this was north of £3500 i didn't get it done there and then. Subsequently looked into and ordered the Maserati parts via Scuderia as good discount on list price and then had my local garage (who are accustomed to sports/prestige cars) undertake the fitting. Total cost £2150.

Ok, so no big surprise a dealer charging more, but given the same maserati parts, that's a substantial saving by just avoiding main dealer for standard maintenance work !

Indeed...Emblem will be servicing my GTS in a few months time for half the price Meridien are after. For me it's a no brainer.
