A concert I actually wanted to go to, the stone roses sold out in 15 minutes. For saturday tickets with face value £55 have sold on ebay for over £300 pounds! I tried on my computer this am but to no avail. Do some people have fancy computer programs that aide these kind of event.
I upset, but what a way of making money, £250 plus profit on each ticket, and these have been sold.
rant over, at least it the manchester derby this weekend

Its the way of the ticket industry these days.

There was an interesting article on Watch Dog on BBC last week. I think it was ticketmaster.com who had the rights to sell these big event tickets, the online shop opens and the tickets are all sold in 10 minutes, then a further 10 minutes later they end up on tickmaster.com's sister website (that they own) bidding for up to £3k per ticket.

Greed.

Greedy I agree, but what rewards! Two tickets for friday are over £1000.
I actually live a 5-10 minute walk from heaton park, and can hear them from my garden , but nothing beats being their. My wonderful wife has just told me she managed to get 2 tickets for the sunday gig, so all is not lost, just have to take monday off work, though was hoping to go as a lads day with mates.

Scandellous. What annoy me is that if people are prepared to pay £1k a ticket, the band should get the money not the middle man.

To quote a film "the art of good business is being a good middle man".

Simply supply and demand Woody.

The worst part of it, is they will not sell all the tickets they have acquired and hence, some will end up in the bin.

Matt, I know that very, very well. Are you in ticketing? Its an unbelievably bent world and while I know lads that have made good money at it, it makes me sick that middle men do nothing and earn a mint, using "supply and demand" as an argument.

As a punter, I don't moan about it as I simply wouldnt pay the asking price, but its wrong that fans get bummed while the connected poeple (be that with a good web connection or knowing the right person) make a mint....and the bands/venue etc get no more. Some would say its entrpreneurial, perhaps.

I totally get the supply/demand thing and ultimately, as much as people moan about it (just me by the looks of it! :)), if people will pay that sort of money, poeple will work out how to get the tickets. If there was no customers at that price, no tickets would trade.

Would never pay that..even for my fav band....Just never worth it....

I remember having tickets to see the Darkness...paid £22 a piece for them...Then they went massive over night almost and when we turned up for the gig someone offerd me £80 a ticket....Needless to say we took the money and went for a nice Italian in Bristol instead...

The pain of being a real fan and not have contacts or be in the know....or be very lucky in the sprint race to buy them online or queue endlessly overnight!

Not fair, not nice and it really irks people that big sponsors etc...get 20-30% of tickets to give away which sometimes ends up being touted.
