Thought the two attached pix may be useful. Found on a late night trip last week the reversing lights were coming on (with a bleep) every time I changed from third to second (much to the consternation of following drivers). Pulling off the gearlever gaiter revealed the microswitch was flapping around like a poorly shot seagull. In typical Italian electrical fashion it was only held by two plastic pins and both had sheared. I drilled out the old pins and inserted two steel pins (actually the shortened shanks of rivets) -- see picture -- and then simply Araldited the switch back into position over the new pins. A day later (giving the Araldite time to harden) all is well.
