I am hoping to have a respray carried out on my 04 4200GT Spyder and was looking for some recommendations from Forum members who have had similar work carried out and been satisfied with the results . I am based in central belt of Scotland and recommedation on a local workshop would be preferred but I am willing to travel to ensure a proper job is carried out . Any feedback with recommendations appreciated

Alex.

Cant help you with the bodyshop, but having not roof the paint should not be that expensive.

If the colour is staying the same, and you are prepared to prep it/scotch pad it and remove the bumpers and mirrors, I recon you should be able to get it done for £1500.

Add another grand if you dont prep it.

I used a place in Milton Keynes, recommended by Loz. The work was first rate. They did what they said they would do and did a very good job. I hunted around for a long while.

I use Sinclair's in bridgend for most of my body work they do a very good job and are quite well priced.

There was a thread some where with lots of pics of a car getting a respray at MP supercars I think and it looked like a seriously good job, its a red one up around here some where, i have seen it and its nice. No idea what the job cost, the owner is on here so may pipe up with some clues.

Silly question but can any good sprayer get hold of "official" maserati colours.

yes "official" colours are only a mix of other colours, the colour code on the car will give the required mix of colours needed to obtain the colour required....

The spray shop I use has no issues with colour matching, you can not tell the difference in any light.

Thanks for the reply guys. At the mo my 3200 is Sepring blue but thinking of going for a full re spray and the new GT sport colour looks like it could go well, I guess as its still blue I don't need to tell the DVLA?

Make sure they do such as the door entry areas, otherwise it could look a bit iffy.

Hi i have used a local body shop in Seaham Co Durham, Tyne & Wear. C & S Coachworks, 0191 5817013 and ask for Barry. They do odd ball stuff, Porsche, TVR. and so on. They painted my front bumper and polished the whole car and the job was 1st class. Edd
