Anyone know how to remove this, as title? I am really, really hoping it can be done without taking out the cupholder piece in the lower centre console.... (as i've looked at that before and been too scared to break it when removing it...)

You dont have to take the cup holder out. The oval section with the gear leaver 1st/ reverse has to come out. Small hole at the front it levers out. Its a spring loaded fit.

I think from memory the screen bezel has to come off and there are two screws at the base of the screen that are covered by the bezel.

Once that is removed you can undo the section with the window switches.

If the rocker part of the switch isnt broken you can open the panel on the back of the switch section and clean up the circuit board and contact pads.

Im sure somebody will confirm re screen bezel shortly.

That is, exactly what I need. Thanks!

I used electrical contact cleaner to clean the carbon backs of the window switches and the pcb contact points. They worked fine again after that.

Easy enough job just use a soft cloth to protect the leather and paint when your prying the bezel and gear selector out. Gear selector section the spring is very taught so hold it on top as you pry it out as it will jump upwards when it releases.
