Its my understanding ,that If the money was paid off shore , then its not subject to UK tax untill its brought in to uk , all the time its offshore its free of UK tax laws

Very complex area ... I do most of my work offshore, get paid for it out of Mauritius into my Jersey Bank Account (not set up to avoid tax - I'm actually from Jersey) ... however as I am resident in the UK I pretty much have to pay HMRC what they want. I'm very tempted to move back to Jersey for tax reasons, however I'm not sure I could survive driving a Maserati at maximum 40mph!

Ex gratia in what respect......I have not been following all this very closely.....he was recorded saying one thing which would have landed him in it......then said he was lying........so whats a lie and whats the truth...we only have the word of a guy who was happy to tell a lie to get rid of someone....
