Rear seatbelt holders

Hi,

The rear seatbelt "sockets" have little holes that they are meant to sit in. For love nor money i cannot get these to sit back in the holes and it is really annoying me. Is there a special knack to it?

There just does not seem to be enough "give" in the seatbelt to allow me to put them in the holes.

Sorry if that is badly explained!

Cheers
R

I wonder if those that have removed the the rear armrest when removing the rear seats (like Matt) might have seen anything that could help?

When you use the seatbelt, the belt moves a little off-center between the cushions. Push the belt back as far as possible so it is not between the cushions any more. With your hand you will feel some empty space. You will be able to position the clip in the center then. Hope this helps you.

Never been able to sit them in their trays on either of my Masers. The webbing just ain't long enough. Another Italian idiosyncrasy! On my GS, the central bolster keeps falling down as well! I also used to dwell on such things, but there are just too many of them with Maser's. The joys of Italian car ownership.

I had a really good go at this and cannot get them to sit in those sockets. The attachment belt just does not seem long enough.

I assume that every car is delivered with the buckles in their sockets. Maserati spends I belive 2 days on the final finish of our cars. And since belts don't shrink, there must be solution. At first I was also a little puzzled. After use you just cannot put them back in place. Unless you do something unexpected. Put your hand between the seat and the backrest and pull the small part of the belt (that is connected to th buckle) back. The belt that is in the cabin will disappear. With your fingers you will feel that the small beltpart is "free". This allows you to move the buckle towards the socket.
I hope this helps. If you want I could take some pictures?

Thought I would have a look at mine, it was worrying me :worried1:
Both where out of the holders, but I have clipped them back in.
They where tight, but just go in.
At least I can sleep at night now, knowing they are secure!
