I reckon anything over 400miles in a day starts to become tiresome and much less like a holiday. I’d suggest splitting your journey and saving your energy for the drive across the Alps and through the tunnels.

Are you require to have winter tyres to drive through Germany in the winter?

No... but you'll be looked upon dimly if having had winter tyres might have helped avoid an accident, so most do, as I understand it.
