Has anyone had a Re-Map done on there 3200???
There is a local company (Washington, Tyne & wear) A.S.D. ltd.(automotive software developments) The owner is called Anthony and he came over this week to have a look at the cars ECU to see if he could do it. He located the ECU checked the numbers on it and confirmed he could Re-Map my car to 420 BHP & 551NM Torque. He need to remove the ECU to do it but would have it done within a day. He has done work on my friend Porsche and the improvement is fantastic. He is very busy at the moment but could do mine towards the end of next week. Any thoughts on a Re-Map or any one had it done?? Edd:thanks2:

How can he quote you revised power and torque figures after just checking a ECU's number? Why would you let an unknown 'tuner' use your very expensive engine as a test mule? Will he check the car's running parameters on a rolling road before and after he's fiddled with the electronics?

I wouldn't go within a mile of this guy, let alone allow him to mess with my car.

Agree, if your car is runnjng right you shouldn't need more power as they are quick and the torque is delivered by the bucket load which makes then a handful! Mine lights up the ASR in third gear on some roads Snd the auto had me snaking up the road last week when I buried the loud pedal in Sport mode!

From what I know there are only two places in the UK who are approved to remap a 3200.

I would get the valve timing done and not bother with remap, Its not like a normal production car where the tuning is a compromise to get reasonable power and fuel consumption and if you tweak it towards power there is always a gain. The 3200 is already quite highly tuned and the ECU ignition timing is constantly self tuning, so i would be very suspicious that this would actually improve the car. I would also be careful if its an auto as the existing tuning produces more torque over a wider rev range than the manual and you might get a slightly higher power at the peak but if you loose torque at lower revs it will be unpleasant to drive and will not be faster to drive because of the long gearing. I am not aware of anyone raving about a 3200 remap with good results, the 4200 i think perhaps there are some examples. Having said all that my Chimeara was extensively remapped, went from 267HP to 317HP and drove a lot better (well faster anyway), but it took a lot of work and many thousands spent on the rolling road with many sensors and a lot of reviewing test data, so i would be wary of what looks like a cheap fix, to do remapping properly requires a lot of work on the rolling road and a lot of understanding of the engine. If they have done it before they would have all of this data to create the new map, if not whats the basis of this new engine map?

even if this guy can do a remap I would not do it because personally I think the 32 would be on the cusp of being almost unmanagable with more torque or bhp............but that is just my opinion.

Prindiville do ECU, exhaust and inlet tuning upgrades for the 3200...well they did 18 months ago

I think the ECU's get sent off to Germany

I have just shredded a set of rear tyres in one year so i would say no, more power would not help, slicks might maybe? And before you remind me yes i will get better tyres, this time.

+1 on my recollection from many moons ago.

Be careful, the modena remap would push it to 450HP but it would require alcohol injection to reduce knocking.
I think these engines are pretty close their max power without going bang.

Besides, if the guy had to look at the ECU number to see if it's tunable or not, I bet the only thing he will do on the map is to increase the target boost pressure.
Run away.
