Hey Guys I am new to the forum and am looking to purchase a facelifted 2009-2012 Quattroporte GTS as a second car for about £45,000. Could anyone tell me what I should particularly to look out for when inspecting the car?

Also who do you recommend any independent Maserati dealers, I live in London.

thanks so much

James

Hi
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the GTS over the s if you appreciate the exhaust note which is the best I've ever heard,if that's not important to you save yourself some money and get an s.
Any official Maserati dealership will do an inspection for you for around £250.

Hi James,
A warm welcome to the forum mate, nice choices either of them..!! If you want an Independent inspection in the south, there is a thread on here with a list..!! Put in the search box at the top: Independent Maserati Specialists..!!
Cheers

Thanks so much guys. I have decided it is a face lifted 2008-2012 Quattroporte GTS. I am used to German cars (Audis & Porsches) but love the sound and the low numbers of Maseratis.

Anything I should look for particularity that goes wrong and should be inspected?

Main thing to look for on a Quattroporte is the suspension. It's a big two tonne car and bushes, shockers and ball joints are prone to wear. This can be felt from a good test drive but to be sure and indie inspection is required. Tpms sensors & parking sensors are also known to play up. Front brakes are expensive as are tyres, have a good look at paintwork too, rear flanks are prone to stone chips. Fantastic cars though, in my opinion they drive better than a Granturismo.

They are already being bought by people who have realised that the new QPVI has lost all soul that a Maserati should have. Granted, I've not yet driven a 3.8 GTS but the 3.0 models lack 'The Maserati Feeling'.
