Just purchased a Quattroporte for wifey. Does anyone have a space saver they would like to sell. she doesn't like the idea of a tin of blow up stuff as being her only way home if she gets a puncture.

Does that mean you are now a 2 Maser family...??

Hi,
Yes, Pauline now has the Quattroporte and I have the 4200. Our intention is to use the Quattroporte on longer trips as she would never drive the 4200 as she didn't like the manual gearbox.

good choice
I am envious (2 Masers!) I would have the QP in preference to the 4200 so I am with Pauline er sort of!!!

I don't recall it being for QP though... Isn't it for the 3200/4200? They are different to the QP and won't fit.

Just found a Quttroporte space saver with a "compressed" tyre on it brand new and never fitted. The tyre is 185/60/17. The part number is 181773 and 192482 (presumably one is for wheel and one is for tyre). I have got a feeling it is no good to me as the original tyres are 19". Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

The smallest wheel/tyre fitted to a QP V was an 18, so if this is a 17 it's more likely to be for a QP IV. Tomorrow I'll check my IV, and if it doesn't have a spare, I may be interested.

So it is no good to me, it presumably has the same pcd/hole pattern then but no good to me because the rolling radius would be wrong, is that correct?

sometimes the space saver is a smaller diameter, but rolling radius is made up for by taller profile tyre.

My QP IV has a alloy space saver inflated that sit in the below the boot floor above the battery.

There's a couple of threads about this. I used a Mitsubishi spare with my QP (slightly modified) Speak to Paul @ Bill McGraths. He checked it out and was impressed by the solution.

Went to look in the boot of my QP IV for the first time since I bought it many months ago. And good news, the spare wheel is there. That said, the chances of this car getting a puncture while sitting in the garage looking pretty is very slim.
