So the internal passenger door handle isn’t working - the wife loves this as I have to get her door - and I understand this is a common fault - 3 questions

1 - is their a fix involving bumper glue, wire, and Honda brake clips of pipe fastners etc...?

2. Is it a whole new door card or is there a sub part one can buy?

3. Any suggestions on strengthing the other doors so the plastic tunnel doesn’t bust on the other 3 doors?

all help gratefully received as we look like burks with me leaping out like Jeeves every time we stop at the moment!

Did you see the: Permanent 10 cent solution to the "broken qp door handle issue" on maserati life?

Yes - but wondered if the world has moved on? Was looking at the hillman 1/4inch clamp solution and have asked there for info as well

My rear ones are playing up - ons side sometimes soft-touch doesn't work, other side child-lock has no effect, cannot open from inside.

CBA TBH, hardly have anyone in rear seats since I gave up dogging.....

Truly sorry to hear this. Are we saying this is a common fault across QPs - or isolated incidents? Yours I think is a year older than mine, so if it's a age (and not mileage related) then mine is in line for these issues next year...

Based on other forums - it’s quite common....

It's possible that the wire connecting the handle to the latch mechanism has become disconnected. Happened to me after I had some paintwork done and they hadn't slotted the end of the wire back into the catch on the door handle. It didn't look particularly fail safe to me so could easily pop out. Have you taken the door cards off and had a look? (appologies if you have)

So from door handles to dogging in four replies - it’s a almost impressive but little use for me door!
I take it you have not had a peek inside the door card yet? Likely to be the broken plastic but could had just disconnected or be a broken cable or possibly an iffy lock. Had the same with the RR and it was the lock not fully disengaging on unlocking to allow the handle to work. The interior one worked fine.

Not yet but preparing for the worst!

So I am thinking that plastic weld glue to refix the tab for the cable and then melt wire into the tab for strength and then finally more plastic weld on top....that should sort it
