perhaps you're interested in how consoles are mounted whenever you may want to repair some trim, especially the rear console as the corners of the vinyl are vulnerable.
I have various vinyl trim replaced by alcantara in a matching contrast colour as the colour of the vinyl is not easy to match exactly.
a lot of qp have wood finish on interior parts, but mine is spray painted in a dull grey, so I wrapped the parts in brushed aluminium.
To remove the front console (radio a/c etc) you'll need to find 4 screws:
gently pull out the vents with clock, it will come out
you'll see 2 screws then remove those
secure the hand brake, and apply some pulling force at the end of the panel with the gear shifter, keep pulling upwards and it will gradually loosen towards the front
then pull it out from under the console.
you'll see the 2 screws at the bottom
here you can see the 4 mounting screws of the console. I took the opportunity to fix a usb connector to charge my phone while navigating as this system will not be udated anymore. cd system: how old school
to adress the rear console, you need to loosen the center console, this is not an easy job!
put the front seats as far forward as possible, step in the backseat and you'll see some covers at the side of the console. Find a way too loosen the bolts in there.
as: also a bit forward 2 more are fixed. you do not need to remove the seats, but it takes some patience to loosen those as well.
(I won't put those front bolts back when re-installing)
Then, under the ashtray, under the handbrake panel, in the arm rest: everywhere screws are fixed. You must remove those because you want to lift the center console upwards to get access to the rear console.
I removed the ashtray in the back as well as the vent opening and the connectors to the electronics
You want to find these 4 screws which are accessed via the pack of the panel
this part, as well as the door panels can be removed by pulling them off.
I hope this will help you a bit.
