QPV - Spare wheel recess not big enough?

Hi guys!
So managed to get a spare wheel exact tyre specs as whats reccomended in the owners book. (Mazda 6 MPS 17" has correct bolt pattern and hub size)

Put it in the boot to find it doesnt fit under the cover, and that there must be a replacement shrouding for when the spare wheel kit is bought.

Any ideas if anybody has the replacement area for sale?! Or if anybody else has found this.

I just have the compressor and tyre weld in my car... I think the spare was an option. My spare well has found better purpose to hide a toughbook, biscuits, coffee, jump pack, etc...

My logic is... day to day I'm not far from home, so can call on another car, trolley jack, etc... get the wheel sent to my local tyre place for repair, or if further afield, just use the AA.

Yeah tis a space saver
The back ridge against the fuel tank has a lump in it all the way across. Ive seen pictures online of the same trim with that removed in the middle to allow the wheel to fit correctly.

So strange, so in that last picture, the fabric has the indent made for the wheel, my one, that buldge at the two sides continues across the middle preventing it from fitting down..!?

I think on mine that's where the small spanner set goes in its blue wallet. Also the there is a wee fabric bag with a small bottle of engine oil in it for topping up.

And of course, a few layers up, the rather weedy Maserati electric tyre pump.

Also featured in the first pic are some baguette crumbs, note to self, don't corner at speed through the twisties after a trip to ASDA...

If they are 19" wheels it doesn't look like it would take 20" wheels fitted to the sport GT ?
