QPV pre-purchase check results

Milton Keynes is not far from me. If you can negotiate the price down then it maybe worth the risk..

Thanks guys for all your input.

Unfortunately it is within the affected numbers - it hasn't been fixed in the past (no info in the service book) and I don't currently hear any issue and nothing was reported by the mechanic (they test cold start).

oh, I thought that ZF are wet sump?

With regards variators, you need to hear a fresh cold start after its been stood for a night, if the seller has started it before you or your inspection guy showed up it would be easy to disguise

Not sure that it’s that bad - but we don’t know the price….
No. But it's 3k when it happens. A *load if it needs a subframe. Bit of labour for all the springs etc. Soon adds up as we know. Plus what is the brake disc measurement, are there recent receipts for work and 5 owners means lots of potential lost and missing history that could show it is either looked after or a wrong un. Going on price alone is a butt kicking waiting to happen. Hopefully it is another good one that just needs minor fettling.

FYI on your variators - even a cold start doesn't always show it - mine was doing it only after being left for 3 days or more, SI did the end cap mod for me and fingers crossed its ok now even if left for a month

I did hear from Shiltech who did my cap mod that they had one that did it only after 2 weeks of being sat.

Hoping I’m not tempting fate here but my car is on 35k and and is sometimes not driven for at least a month but ragged within an inch of its life when it is.
So my point is hopefully some early engined cars are ok?

Do the cam cap mod and no need to worry then.

Well done. Welcome to the delights of Maserati driving. Few things come close, in my view. Enjoy !
Do let us know how the "new owners inspection and service" goes when you take it to your nearest specialist workshop.
