Hi guys,
Hope everyone is well. Not been on for a while. My 3 girls keeping me very busy indeed but finally blowing the dust off the QPV (2004 Duo-select). For the first time, I've decided to get my hands dirty on the old girl!
Already done the oil and filter change (what a bar steward that cover on the filter is! the top screw/bolt is almost unreachable). Gonna change the coolant, aux belt and air filter too over next few days.
Got a quick question as regards the power steering fluid. I'm referencing the diagram below.
I would like to drain and refill the fluid. Anyone done this before? It looks pretty simple. There are two pipes that lead to the long thin power steering heat exchanger that sits in front of the rad. The top one (item 20 in diagram) leads to the PAS reservoir/tank up above and the lower one (item 16 in diagram) leads to the steering box.
To drain the fluid, is it just a case of draining fluid through the bottom pipe that runs between the heat exchanger and the steering box (or perhaps both pipes?).
Once drained, I presume it's just a case of refitting the pipes securely and refilling the reservoir to the appropriate level right?
Finally, anyone know what spec and brand of power steering fluid that Maserati officially recommend?
Any help/advice appreciated.
Cheers, Dhanj
