Thanks Ewan, do you recall what the fix was? The button/switch on the dash doesn’t seem to make a clicking or actuating noise, and the red cord within the boot works perfectly... so I suspect it’s the switch that needs replacing? EDIT: I should go and check the fuse first...

Sorry - can't now recall what the fix was. But if you are not hearing a click from the switch, it seems likely to be that or a fuse. Whatever it was on mine, the fix wasn't a big deal or expensive.

When it happened on mine I removed the fuse to check it. It was fine so I replaced it and it's worked perfectly ever since.

Thanks again... just had a look in the owners handbook, and the offending fuse in question is in the 'trunk', so I'll take a look over the weekend and see if anything stands out.

@Chris, weather hasn't been great today - here's one I took this afternoon, and another the day before:

57453
57454

The 2x grey beasts on the drive way do go well together... will miss the Jag (background), but it's time to move on.

Thanks... 208k on the clock and still going strong. I had another E39 (Champagne Edition) saloon which was a truly splendid car.

Will come back to you on email re: the XK8 today!

And yes, that’s my 5 year old daughter providing her thumbs up of approval!!

Hi Ewan, Arfa, I got in touch with Autofficina guiding them down the switch replacement route, and it was suggested back that they perform a 'proxi alignment'... I had to run a google search to figure out what that was. I can't see a diagnostic tool/software fixing this though?

Cheers

Fuel flap is fixed!! Apparently this was the issue:

"The fuel flap is now working. There was a bad connection with the wire to the fuel flap which has been rectified."

Seems like the actuator is fine, and reading through some of the other posts/messages from other members with similar problems it's surprising that this wasn't the source of the issue this time...
