Finally collected today. Will put more pics up once she’s had a good clean. No problems on the drive home and realised how much I’ve missed driving an Italian car. First Maserati for me and took months of finding till I found the perfect one. Got little bits of bodywork to tidy up. I’ll keep the thread going with any work done that may help anyone running one as a daily driver.

Very nice!

I think I saw a similar one for sale some while back... I think it was Exec GT spec, with rear comfort seats and picnic tables from memory. Is this the same one?

Yes, it could have been. It’s an Exec GT with the tables and rear screen.

That’s the one, I did consider going to see it when I started looking last year. At the time it was being advertised as a former wedding car.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures!

Just an update on the car. Picked up last week but didn’t get chance over the weekend to have a drive. Then on Monday morning with the first cold start it had the dreaded variator rattle. Immediately knew what it was and informed the dealer straight away. Annoyed because they must have known. Giving them the chance to get it repaired or seeking my money back. Updates to follow. Shame as everything else is perfect.

Sorry to hear that, it does look very nice, but they can be a bit noisy on start up from cold - was it already warmed up when you started it prior to driving it home on collection day?
Does the engine number fall within the number range of ones to be aware of?

Every QP I went to see was warmed up first - we all know why now.....

How certain are you the noise is the "dreaded variatior rattle"?
Popping out soon, so will listen carefully to my own car.

On the upside, if the dealer (or the warranty company) does the right thing and fixes it, if it is what you think of course, then you are in a better position with a nice example with variator job just done.

Yes, it’s in the range. It was already warm when viewed it. I had a hope that at 75k miles it had already been done. I’m sure it is the variators, rattles from top of engine for about 2 seconds only on cold start and never again during the day. Will be ok to still use the car while they are deciding what to do with it?

It will be the variators and it will be safe to use the car in the meantime. But probably best not to in case you end up handing it back to them. You dont want a legal argument over use/mileage later.

Totally agree with Ewan especially in the current climate.
You don't want the Dealer putting blame on you but they equally named to respond ASAP.
Good Luck.

They’ve just emailed back and it’s being collected in the next couple of days. The wife is working from home so at least I’ve got her car to use.

Is that to repair or refund your purchase ?
