QP V Duoselect Clutch replacement, London or nearby

Good evening,

I have a QP v duoselect which had a worn clutch reading of 85% 2 years ago from it's last service at HR owen.
I've driven it since without any issues up until last night.
It won't go into reverse, just makes a clicking sound and remains in N. It goes into D/1 sluggishly but changes into 2,3,4,5,6 without any issues.

I presuming the clutch is finished?

Has any body has their clutch replaced or know of any recommendation in and around London? Cost being the main factor.
I have found a new clutch online for sale so perhaps someone knows of a specialist mechanic with experience that could replace it quoting on labour only etc...?

Many thanks for any advice/ contacts.

Welcome to the forum Daniel, my advice is to get it done properly and if cost is an issue then use an indi from this forum. Do a cheap job and you will end up doing it twice.

I'm sure others will offer their view soon enough

This advice is probably too late for you, but for the benefit of others, the cost to have the clutch replaced by a Maserati main dealer in Italy is about half of that of here in the UK. Mine was done last summer in Umbria. Drive out, spend a few days having a nice time while they do all the work, service, etc, then drive back - the saving on the garage costs pay for the trip, so the holiday is for free!

Thank you both for the advice, yes it's too late to plan a trip but I agree with coughing up for to get the job done properly. I have emailed a few known dealers/ services and now awaiting quotes before making a decision.
Figured it's best to leave the car in the drive until it's replaced not to cause any further damage. Well it won't reverse out regardless so will just have to push it out in N the day I book it in somewhere... Hopefully won't have to come across any 3 point turns on the way.
Thanks again.

Hi there I would personally go down the supply & fit route with a trusted independent, oh & get the hydraulic bearing done at the same time.

Remember that the exhausts need removing , prop & transaxle moving. I would also recommend new engine / transaxle mounts if you are in the 60k mileage region.

If you are unfortunate to have any issues post install, redress is simpler & straightforward.
Cheers Dave

Thanks. Sorry i have no engineering background so all this is very useful to know. So i understand this hydraulic bearing isn't included within the clutch assembly part in general?
From my last service the report stated that the engine mounts were "split" and they recommended to replace them along with a list of other things but the prices were astronomical.
Do you have an idea of realistic costs involved for what you mentioned and any issues whoever may have with just replacing the clutch itself and perhaps this hydraulic bearing if not included? Thanks again
