QP GT Sport steering wheel rake adjustment problem

Hi guys,

2007 QP with power steering wheel position adjustment, wheel goes in and out no problem, but the up/down control doesn't do anything.

Any experience of this, ideas and fix suggestions appreciated. Cheers.

Suggest check switch first, doesn't get used much so contacts can tarnish, check for power , or the raise lower motor connections

Cheers Dave. I think that the switch is ok as the in/ out movement is fine, it's only the up and down wheel adjustment that seems a problem.
I took it to a dealer today for some work, the mechanic moved my seat and steering wheel as part of that visit, but when I tried to put my positions back to suit me then I discovered the problem. - I just thought that I may be missing something obvious in the use if the switch. Looks like I might have to go back and let them take look. Thanks again

does the wheel move if you switch the easy access control on when you open the door, its the button on the drivers arm rest behind the window controls, press the button so the light is out and then exit the car, when you open the door the seat should move back and the steering wheel raise to the uppermost position, if it does this you will know if the motors are ok or not, assuming its not in the uppermost position already that is

Thanks Tim, I just went out and tried your good suggestion, but sadly no joy. Looks like the issue is with the vertical motor. - off to the dealer again by the look of it !

I wish that I didn't love this car so much, I'd have ditched anything else by now after so many issues, but the Mas is going nowhere no - way !

Update is not good, sadly no easy fix here, steering adjustment motor is buggered and needs replacing. - new unit £1,800 quid - ouch !

Hi,
Think I would get an auto electrician to look at it, motors are very reliable these days, my money would be on connection issues .
