QP DV6 Cold Start issue

Hi, my 2017 QP has become a problem with cold start, turns over fine and eventually starts. No problem at all starting warm or at any point during the day, only when left over night and gradually taking longer. I thought glow plugs but my mechanic thinks not, haven’t put it on scanner yet (he’s got to check it’s on it) but thinks it may not show anything. Car only got 30k miles - any suggestions?

My first thought was glow plugs but I would also be looking at fuel pressure and the shut off valve....being in the shut position when cold cranking.

I would clean the shut off valve first (looks like the throttle body on a petrol but opens when running and closes to shut the engine down by starving it of air)

Great idea! Thanks

i agree , make sure the in tank pump is putting at least 5bar pressure out , if its low on pressure the car wont start very well , also it wouldnt hurt to whip the crank position sensor out and inspect the crank reluctor ring for condition , if that fails it will leave you stranded
