Hello

Can anybody tell me what a main Maserati dealer should be charging me for the BIG 4 year service on my QP please ?

I have it booked in tomorrow for the service and I have been quoted £3200.00 Is this average ? expensive ? I doubt cheap ?

Any heads up would really be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

2 years late?

FWIW the 4 year on the GranTurismo is about £2700 incl the O2 sensors and fuel breather can. I suspect the QP will be a similar amount of work given that the GranTurismo is derived from it. The only rider is that the QP went onto two year servicing but I cannot remember if it was when the ZF came out at the start of 07 or when the car was face lifted and the 4.7 became an option in autumn 09.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi

I only have a 3200 but a major service including all fillers, oils, belts (including the cam belt) plugs, is around £1700 including vat and parts. I would assume the 4 year service you have been quoted probably includes for the 4 Lambda Sensors but even so it seems a bit expensive to me, especially as this price does not include for items they may find that are not covered by the service. Perhaps someone with a 4200 or GS can advise as they share the same power unit.

ARRRGHHHH, cancel!

Should be a max of £2000 and that should include EVERYTHING. Check they are doing the lambda's and the ACTIVE CARBON FILTER. This is on top of the fuel tank, spare part cost alone for a main dealer is near £200. They need to strip out the boot liner and unseal an access plate to get to it , close to 2 hrs labour alone.

Also make sure they service the aircon compressor (oil level and filter plus degas).

Have seen instances were dealers thought they only had to 'inspect' it.

You need to call around and haggle and get it in black and white what they are going to actually do.

Just had it all done by the way so thats how I know (on a QP duoselect).

Hi, seem to remember you mentioned a wheel alignment is on the GT service, its not required on the QP service schedule.

Colin, I would dig a bit deeper on that as its seems a lot...Wh,at model year QP do you have and are you taking it to a London dealer as they seem to be more expensive....Worth trying Dick Lovett in Swindon (unless that's who has quoted you already of course)

Ridiculous.
Go to Supercarhub and get quotes.
I don't expect to pay more than £1200 for a 4 year on my Gran T (excluding charcoal canister and lambda sensors which no one bothers with) In fact I think the last quote I got was £980 for a 4 yr at a main dealer.........

The guy was asking about the cost for something he has already agreed to buy:

-we don't know whether his MY QP needs more than the 4 year service on the GT
-the fuel breather and O2 sensors are about £1000 of the c £2600/2700 list price of a 4 year service for a GT. I accept that not having them done is the way that many people go but if you have the extended warranty then you have to
-a lot about price is related to convenience. If the guy lives in Ascot, he will be going to Egham, a nice easy journey whereas a cheaper deal might involve a lot of travel
-I've tried looking at Supercarhub prices and they are very unclear - one man's 2 year service could be another's annual service with a few knobs on. For example, the biennial services are meant to include a full alignment. If I bought only on price I would not be convinced that this was in the price

Just a few thoughts.

:omg:
My 4 year service from a well known specialist I've posted about before: fixed price £600 includes consumables, excluding VAT.

Wouldn't skimp on the lambda sensors as misfires can result in unburnt fuel getting back to the anterior cat and causing breakdown of the catalyst. Back pressure can then lead to catalyst getting sucked back in to the engine.

I used Maranello in the summer for a 2 yr service - it was £1200. They are happy to match indies. Although Ratbag's deal of £980 is excellent. I think Lambda and canisters add around £600.
