So, I bought my 4200 just over a year ago. It has just flown through it's first MOT with me, and been treated to a nice pair of shiny (and noisy) straight through boxes in the last month too.

My little girl is now 3, and at a point where we are more comfort with her being in a front facing car seat on occasion, so yesterday she had her first ride in the 4200. We took her to Halfords, to look for a more slim fitting (for the sake of mummys leg room in the front!) car seat ;)

She was scared at first and wanted to go in the grey car (her normal transport being our Grey 159) but once in said she loved daddys crown car - she's only 3 and it's pretty close to a trident.

So, next week end (weather permitting) will be her first trip to a racing circuit as we plan to head up to the Ferrari day at Knockhill, fun, games, and proud parenting :)

Good work! Breeding disciples of Italian automotive exotica is a noble responsibility.

Iain, there are some threads on Pistonheads and (I think) Ferrarichat on this exact topic. There are definitely some that simply don't work, and the seat itself needs to be quite slim to fit between the bolsters.

We bought one of these:
http://www.halfords.com/kids-zone/car-seats/toddler-car-seats/joie-elevate-1-2-3-cherry-car-seat
and used the old 'towels in the hole' trick with the 4200 bucket rear seats. It's quite narrow and sits just inside the bucket which seemed to work ok, and

Tightening the seat belt up was a pita due to the proximity of the mount and location of the pillar / seats, but I got it to a
I have a feeling as she gets taller, the roof line will become a problem.

We went to Halfords and had a look / took out the display model to try it. I think that's probably the best option.

The space in the 4200 is pretty good though. We managed to fit her huge 'from birth' car seat in the back to get to Halfords. Ok, so the passenger seat was about half an inch from all the way forward, but my tall wife (near 6ft) still managed to fit in.

With the new Joie Elevate, I reckon she'll get another 3 or 4 inches or so leg room compared to the big seat.

All the kids adore Daddy's Maserati especially the smallest although telling her Mum that it does speed 130 was probably not her best comment ever ;)

My kids have rallied against my Italian fleet, and my non Italian car also.

Its not like i rave on about them or anything- I never mention them to the kids at all, (they don't stay with me. and now that I type this, I realise what has happened)

My son (age 10) says he won't be driving when he gets older and will do without a car.

I do have photography of my eldest with the car, when he was too young to know what was going on, but it wouldn't happen now...

My life, eh?!

You should have posted in the wanted section as I've got a pair of 4200 straight through back boxes sat in my shed. Mine came with them and I gave up in the end and reverted to stock.

I bought them through a thread on here. They weren't wanted as such, more of a "that'd be nice to do" thing that became a reality !

You got any pics???
No (oops!) but will get some at the weekend.

No probs. Hope you are happy with them. The problem is there is a dearth of tunnels in eastern Scotland.

My other half has done her best to poison our daughter against the QP: 'not a practical car, should have bought a hatchback' etc.

But our girl had an epiphany when I picked her and her mates up from school recently; from her friends' reaction the penny finally dropped with her that we are lucky to have a very special car.
