As some will know my wife sold her BMW to release some cash for home improvements. She was after a Skoda Octavia VRS around 3 to 3.5k..You can get a 2002/2003 for around 3 to 4k with around 70 to 100k on the clock. So we had planned to view around 4 cars this weekend with the closest one 60 miles away......Well on Friday one came up on Pistonheads 10 miles form me in black...Not mush deatails and £500 more than we wanted to pay. So after a few calls and a bit of haggling got it down to within budget....But the best bit about this car was it only had 29k on the clock..Couldn't believe our luck. Went to see it today and quickly purchased it.....Never ever thought we would get one with that sort of miles on it..

Wife pleased so I'm pleases...

Both pleased with it Miles...very underated car and pretty quick to be honest...She had a yellow one back in 2003.

This one was being sold by the owners parents as they had moved to Canada....They moved 2 and a half years ago but came back now and again. The car had a full service in Jan and MOT and then was parked on the parents drive. It has done 4 miles since Jan..This was a concern as cars are better if driven..But after a test drive I could tell it was a *******. It needed a good clean and the wife wasn't sure as it had some scratches but the inside was spotless and I told her I could get the scratches off.. ....So glad this was the one she bought...Got it home and spent all afternoon getting her up to my standard..Now she looks lovely. You could tell it had been sat around as the engine bay was full of leaves, dirt, dust, spider webs. When I looked under there I just wanted to get to work on it straight away. Under the bonnet was brown you couldn't see any black...Wish I had taken a pic before I started to clean it but heres one once clean. Still no perfect but going to spend the day getting into tthe detail...Well pleased. Going to get the wheels refurbed in anthracite and maybe a remap.....

Adam, just washed it and then plenty of elbow grease, polish and wax.....

Dem, check the mileage, service history, old MOTS and spoke to the service dealer.....The only concern was that it hadn't really been used for 2.5 years..hence the low miles....but had it check over today and its a good one..........Not a Maserati I know but here's few pics...

Notice the M5 in the first pic lurking in the background, looks like your son wants to go for a ride in pic 4. What Mrs K make of the VRS?

She loves it Adam...This is her 2nd....You will be pleased to know her 1st was yellow...I drove it today. This was the car that made people take Skoda seriously and in years to come good ones will be cherished for that reason...As far as a Skoda could be cherished that is. Underated as far as I'm concerned...

yeah i saw a pic of the yellow one on pistonheads, looked rather nice, black is probably the best colour along with blue, green callipers are cool though.

Tooooo many jobs for the weekend Adam....This one is well on the back of the list...Car cleaning comes first...Unless the beloved gets involved.

yep car cleaning is first and then i have to cut the grass as well, oh what joy.
