Part worn tyre

Having deliberated on tyre choice for a few weeks now - the target being "softer" sidewalls to reduce the severe harshness on rumble strips - I am in the process of replacing all 4 tyres. The rears are down to 1.7mm at the lowest point, so probably aren't worth saving but the fronts have reasonable tread left. One is wore on the outside when the camber was out but the other is pretty good. When they are changed next week I'll take a couple of pictures and post them and measure the tread depth. They would be good for a "spare" or to replace a damaged tyre...........they will be up for grabs next week to forum members.
PS I'm in Weymouth

Dave, I swapped from the OEM tyres to Falkens, and this solved the harsh, crashy ride. Great road tyre, the only criticism I have is that the are rubbish on a wet track.

...yup useful to have a spare or two lying around in case you can't get what you need.

I did buy a skinny wheel as a spare for that "just in case" split tyre disaster up a mountain on a Sunday but can store the tyres if there are no takers. The wheel I bought (£20) was from a early 4 door (Biturbo ?) which a bloke had trashed, it didn't fit on the hub but had it machined to size. It won't lay flat in the spare wheel recess unless it's deflated - seems daft to have a flat spare ! - so it does take up a bit of room but, for me, it's well worth it.

Those front tyres are Michelin Pilot 235x40x18 95Y .........measured in the centre, one has 6mm of tread (bottom picture) the other has 5mm but is worn on the outside and inside edges - perhaps it was run under inflated by the previous owner see top picture. The rears are Pilots as well 265x35x18 97Y with minimum of 1.7mm in the centre but more than that elsewhere.
