Parking sensor intermittent failure

Here is how most units fit the bumper;

• You have a cap that fits into the hole in the bumper, this cap also has a locking system to hold the sensor in place - its a bit like a large washer and fits from the outside
• The sensor itself that fits from the rear of the bumper into the cap and clicks into place.

You may be able to push the sensor into the the rear of the car, but this is likely to crack the locking tangs in the cap, and there is no guarantee you can fit a new senor back into the hole with the bumper in place as there will be very little room.
