Hello all,
The" Parking brake fault: go to dealer" and "Brake" just came up on display yesterday. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it still driveable? I have tried to disconnect the battery and reconnected it, but I had no luck with that method. The car is a 2013 GranTurismo MC sportline. Thank you.

First thing to do is look in the bottom of the boot and make sure the epb unit is not in a pool of water as that is the usual problem.

Thanks for the response. I just checked it. It is nice and clean. Is the car still driveable? If yes, I might drive it to the dealer to have them check it.

You should be able to have it scanned by any good garage local to you with diagnostic gear unless the Dealer is really close by.
My Launch X431 would communicate.
Is the parking brake not operating at all ?

Yes, sir, I pushed the button " Park off" but nothing happen. The same thing happened when I pulled the switch "P" next to the shifter.

Should be okay to drive to get it checked as it's not operational just take extra care in case.
Try to get it scanned as close as possible to get an idea of faults stored in the ECU.
Just a point is the battery fully charged and healthy ?
Any idea of battery age ?

Yes! I took the battery to O'rylie to check and they told me it is healthy. Unfortunately, I don't know about the age of the battery. I just bought the car out of state and got it shipped to my location yesterday. I did call the dealer where I bought it from. They said they will ask their mechanic. They think it is the battery because the car has not started for 4 days while being transported.

Ah ha making sense.
Do you have a local auto electrician nearby that could test the battery properly ?
I bet the seller had been charging it before you bought it.
Should be a simple fix and then get it scanned to clear the faults that will be stored.

I had the same issue over the colder months and was sure it couldn't be the battery as it was changed in Jan 2019 - a few months before I bought the car - but lo and behold getting a new battery solved the issue and I never saw the dash lit up like a Christmas tree.

I've never owned a car which has been so temperamental due to slightly low battery voltage.

I had the same problem. It was the battery. It only needs a small drop in voltage to cause a problem.
