Rust was not that bad on this example as its a the generation before the rot wagons started.

Of course any car of this age is susceptible, but if its maintained/resorted correctly I would not be overly concerned.

These are cracking little cars, back to a period when Alfa was a true Alfa

I would go to that dealer just to have a look at the Lambo's he has in stock. The guy who set up VVS was en ex stock broker, quit his job to sell Lambo's, not bad eh.

A very good friend of mine is an Alfa engine specialist by trade. He owns fourteen or fifteen at the last count for his own personal use. He looks after my Alfa engined, Hawk Stratos .

If you'd like some expert advice on what to look for and a **** fine engineer to look after any purchase you decide to make, pm me.

Well, I bow to your superior knowledge, I was under the impression that the 70's Suds etc were the 'rotters'

Personal experience Matt.....the car I got above was "perfect".....but on closer inspection...a few flaws showed up....;)...........very cunningly disguised by a previous botcher, fortunately all back to metal now.

My Alfa is pretty much perfect but that's only because it has had a 5yr restoration. As I understand it, it was quite the shed when he acquired it... as a left hand drive 1300 - it's now a right hand drive 2000 Veloce which gives you an idea of the work he put in :)

Then I did the cams, dizzy, exhaust and brakes and have myself a little rocket :)

It'll have a rotten body unless it's lived in a warm climate or has already been sorted. Everything is else can be sorted fairly easily by comparison.
